In the era of open source, data sharing, Creative Commons and internet accessibility, we are often overwhelmed when it comes to copyright and Intellectual Property. A session on protection of Intellectual Property in the cultural sector was organised by the ACRI Goa Chapter in collaboration with MOG SUNDAYS and Culture Clan on 1 March 2020.
Shalini Menezes - Founder, SimSim Advisory Pvt Ltd facilitated the session, where-in she talked of problems like how does one protect creative work/content/production and when can one use derivatives of someone else’s work to build upon their own.
The session enabled clear understanding of copyright law and answered introductory questions like what patents are best suited to business and artistic needs.
